Wild Rose Village Board approves aeration project bid

Subhead

The Wild Rose Village Board approved a bid for an aeration project at the Wild Rose Wastewater Treatment Facility during the March 2 meeting.

A bid $92,000 from EDI was the only bid received. Pond 1 will be dealt with first, then if it works well, work will be started on the next pond.

A critical incident representation retainer agreement was approved for the village police dept. In case the use of deadly force is even used, an investigation will take place and the police chief will be covered through the agreement.

Police Chief Nate Klapoetke reported that a USDA Grant could possibly be acquired for the purchase of a new squad, with 55 percent of the cost of the squad being covered. Different squad options are being looked at.

Other approvals were granted for:

•A write-off of outstanding personal property tax as presented.

•An ordinance addition 2022-01.

•A donation of $243.57 to the Wild Rose Historical Society for sewer reimbursement.

•Operator’s licenses for Martha Cross and David Dryden at Family Dollar.

The Board tabled the appointment of a police commission member, and took no action regarding a donation request to the Post Prom Committee.

The next regular Board meeting will take place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Apr. 6.
