Wild Rose School Board approves budget revisions

Subhead

The Wild Rose School Board approved revisions to the 2020-2021 budget during a June 29 meeting.

As one fiscal year draws to a close and preparations for the next fiscal year begin, the district looks for possible revisions. A possible transfer of funds to Capital Investment Fund 46 is to be considered as well. After a discussion was held a transfer was approved. A transfer of Unassigned Fund Balance to Committed Fund Balance for balancing the 2020-2021 expenditure budgets was also considered. That transfer was also approved by the Board.

Since there was a change in office personnel the revising of signature documents for Farmers State Bank and Hometown Bank had to be considered. Those able to access all district accounts at the banks include Andrea Havlovitz, Cheryl Thalacker, Craig Hayes, Matt Wilbert, and Amanda Bronk.

Milk and bread bids for the 2021-2022 school year were considered. Engelhardt will supply the milk with a cost of .229 for a half pint of 1 percent, .214 for half pints of skim, and .239 for half pints of chocolate skim for a total of $22,804.42. Pan ‘O Gold will supply the bread, buns, and dinner rolls for a total of $14,398.05 for the school year.

High School graduation for 2022, according to the returned surveys, 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, was favored.

The appointments for a middle/high school vocal music teacher, and a middle/high school at-risk/alternative education teacher were considered.

The Board approved revisions to policies Section 1: School Board Foundations, Governances, and Operations, 1.24 where Fund Balance is concerned, and Section 7: Auxiliary Services, 7:14 where School Wellness is concerned. Other revisions were considered as well.

The Board held a lengthy discussion on a revised project list regarding the facilities planning projects. Items can still be tweaked before sending out the list on a survey this fall.

The next Board meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday July 15. The annual meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 9 in the auditorium.
