Subhead

The Redgranite Village Board met on Sept. 15 and unani-mously, approved a Resolution of Inclusion of employee enrollment in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS), effective Jan. 1, 2021.

Current village employees will be offered a one-time opportunity to elect to enroll or waive participation in the WRS; those who elect to waive WRS coverage and continue to be employed by the village will not be eligible for future WRS coverage.  Village employees hired on Jan. 1, 2021 or after must be enrolled in the WRS.

Current village employees who decide to waive their participation in the WRS can elect to continue their retirement pension coverage by the Prudential Insurance Co.   Board members agreed that each employee will have to check on the benefits of each plan and decide which works best for them and their situation.

In addition, the board approved that Village Clerk Christy Groskreutz be the designated WRS agent for the village, approved the online access security agreement, and approved automated clearing house direct withdrawal authorization.

The board held a special village board meeting on Sept. 3, at which time they approved an original alcohol beverage retail license application for Class B Beer & Liquor and Class C Wine for Granite Inn Bar & Restaurant, a cigarette license for Granite Inn Bar & Restaurant, and an operator’s license for Denise Bogutske (Granite Inn Bar & Restaurant).
