Proposed building plans submitted to the Wild Rose Village Board

Subhead

The Wild Rose Village Board listened to proposed building plans during a March 3 call-in meeting.

The building plans involve 10 acres of vacant land on the south side of STH G+H in the village which is zoned residential. A grandson of the late John Apps wants to build a cottage on what had been his grandfather’s land, and needed to know of what his options are for sewer hookup. He will have the electric company look at how the power lines will come in, as he plans to start building this summer.

Building plans were submitted to the Board, and the Board members will study them, and check into the elevation levels to help determine what’s needed for the sewer hookup for the proposed dwelling.

In other business the Board approved a recommended zoning change from R1 to R2 for what used to be a rose garden on the west side of Main St. Action on the property will start in the spring and end in the fall.

A contract for the dam inspection to be conducted was approved by the Board.

Ordinance Amendment 2021-2 was approved, as was an operator’s license application.

A report was given on the monthly Wild Rose Mill Restoration Committee meetings. An appeal letter for the restoration fund raising needs to be tweaked, but the painter for the building was approved. A paint store in Waupaca will sell the paint at cost.

Real Estate Agent Jeff Eggers was asked to look at a couple of available lots owned by the village and plot them out with the sizes and values.

It was pointed out in new business that some storage pods being used in the village will not be allowed to be permanent.

The Board entered closed session, with the next regular meeting taking place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Apr. 7.
