Master Gardener Everett Eckstein, with his wife, Carol, manning the computer program, presented the Square Foot Gardening program at the Poy Sippi Library on April 15. Interest in this type of gardening drew in a large crowd and many questions were answered.

Nora Lein, 8, participated in the Easter Egg Hunt near the Almond Lions Club Shelter House, Almond, on April 20. The event was sponsored by many donors, such as Fred Lein Trucking, Almond Lions Club, Almond Sno-Eagles, and the American Legion Post 339.


Linda Gohlke, Desi and Shawn Reetz, members of the Neshkoro Advancement Association were on hand to register children at the annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 20 at the River’s Edge Park.


The Poy Sippi Library Story Hour, led by Deb Sattler, celebrated Earth Day on April 22. The children heard stories about Earth Day, and learned about what makes the earth happy and what makes the earth sad. The kids also made shakers from recycled materials and special hats.

Juniors from Wautoma High School sat in one of the courtrooms at the Waushara County Courthouse as they listened to Corporation Counsel Ruth Zouski, Clerk of Circuit Court Melissa Zamzow, and Judge Guy Dutcher explaining their jobs in local government.

Chayna Swen, 2, daughter of Clay and Chelsie Swen, Wautoma, was all smiles as she finished gathering more than a dozen eggs at the Neshkoro Advancement Association Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 20.




The Wautoma Hornets played against Wisconsin Dells on April 16 during a baseball matchup. Both teams played hard, which resulted in a tied game, 7-7.


Donna Lee Teschner, age 69, of Wild Rose, passed away Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019 at ThedaCare Medical Center-Appleton.
