Neshkoro resident encourages others to volunteer

To the Editor:

Have you ever driven through the Village of Neshkoro?

Starting at the edge of the village a beautiful Welcome sign greets you.

Have you ever noticed the Memorial Park with the tributes to veterans or River’s Edge Park with the beautiful gazebo where concerts are held every Friday night in the summer? The benches—landscaping—lights and fishing pier, or the murals painted on the buildings—the banners on the street lights—on Main Street and at Christmas the fabulous snowflake lights.

All of these did not fall from the sky! They came about through the hard work and fundraiser of the Neshkoro Enhancement Committee (NEC). Some of our fundraisers are the Community Chorus Concerts in July and December at St. James Place, Home and Garden Show the last Saturday in July, Scarecrow Festival in October, Summer Concerts in the Park (gazebo) and brat frys.

If you have a Neshkoro mailing address you might think about joining the NEC. Our meetings are the second Tuesday of the month at the library at 6:30 p.m.

When you volunteer and get involved in your community you will feel good inside.
