Vaccines continue to roll into county

According to Norm Duesterhoeft,  Emergency Management Director, as of March 2nd, COVID vaccinations continue in the county for the 65 and older age group and will be opened up to teachers and licensed day care providers.

To date 14.2 percent of county residents, 3465, have received at least one dose of vaccine.  Forty-four percent of seniors 65 and older or 2691 have been vaccinated.  Those fully vaccinated are 6.8 percent or 1658.

This past week the county received 600 first time doses and 400 second doses for a total of 1,000 compared to last week where they received 100 first time doses and 700 second time doses.

Duesterhoeft said that the positive case count in the county continues to drop.  Last week’s count was up by seven and this week’s count is five new confirmed cases.
