Family Health La Clinica has COVID-19 testing availability

Family Health La Clinica continues to communicate operational changes on a weekly basis. As a Community Health Center, they are happy to assist anyone regardless of their ability to pay for services and offer a sliding fee scale for qualifying patients. Please call with any questions or concerns you may have.

There is now COVID-19 testing available. La Clinica’s providers are following current Wisconsin Department of Health guidelines and can test all patients who are symptomatic. COVID symptoms include fever, tiredness, dry cough, aches and pains, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, and diarrhea. Anyone with symptoms can call to discuss testing. Appointments may take place via telehealth. Patients will be scheduled for drive-up lab services if a provider determines testing is needed. Call at 920-787-5514.

There may be a visit fee or copay depending on the patient’s coverage. All private insurance plans, Medicaid, and Medicare are waiving any patient costs for testing.

They have implemented drive-up lab services by scheduled appointment at the Wautoma Clinic.

As part of Badger Bounce Back plans announced by Governor Evers, FHLC leadership is working to implement full medical, dental, behavioral health, and substance use services, including early morning and evening hours. They will be ready to resume full operations as soon as they can safely do so. This includes plans to institute expanded early morning and evening dental hours at some locations, in-person medical, in-person behavioral health services, and in-person WIC services. Anticipate a phased-in approach to resuming full operations.

La Clinica continues to screen and take temperatures on all employees, patients, and vendors entering the clinic so that additional precautions can be taken with patients exhibiting fever, cough, and nasal congestion.

FHLC will continue to follow CDC guidelines for masking. Current guidelines are that everyone in public areas wear a face mask. Anyone entering the health centers is required to wear a mask.

La Clinica continues to serve existing patients and new patients. Additionally, they will see any patients on an interim basis who may not have current access to their primary medical care, behavioral health, or dental providers (for urgent/emergency services). All patients are screened over the phone and at the door. The clinical teams determine if it is appropriate for a face-to-face visit. You can reach any of the five locations (Wautoma, Beaver Dam, Mauston, Friendship, and Stevens Point) by calling toll free at 1-800-942-5330.

Therapists and psychiatrists can help immediately with anxiety, depression, and crisis management. They have same-day or next-day appointments available via telehealth or in-person.

FHLC has implemented virtual visits for remote access through a smartphone or other connected device using MyChart. The first step is to establish care at the clinic and set up a MyChart account. Help is available by calling them or visiting their website at They are offering telehealth visits whenever possible. The need for a face-to-face visit is determined with the patient and the clinical team. We have recently implemented tele-dental services via the telephone. Patients can send images to La Clinica via a HIPAA compliant platform.
