Clinic locations are open for in-office visits. They also have telemedicine visits available for primary medical care and behavioral health services. Telehealth services do not cost more than an in-office visit and are covered by most health insurance plans. More information about scheduling telehealth visits can be found at www.famhealth.com. La Clinica will continue to provide emergency and urgent dental appointments in Wautoma, Beaver Dam, Mauston, and Stevens Point and are working towards opening full dental services per the Wisconsin and American Dental Association guidelines. They are also offering some dental visits via telemedicine. Anyone who had a visit for preventative or non-emergency dental services that was cancelled due to COVID-19 will be contacted about rescheduling. They will initiate preventative services as soon as they can ensure the safety of the staff and patients.
As part of their commitment to the safety of staff and patients, before entering the clinics they will continue to screen patients for fever and symptoms and ask staff and patients to wear masks while in the clinic. Dental patients with fevers and or cough and cold symptoms will be asked to reschedule. All patients being seen for COVID-19 testing and/or respiratory symptoms will not be seen inside the clinic but will instead be seen in the mobile clinic onsite in Wautoma.
La Clinica encourages any patient with at least one of these mild symptoms to be tested for COVID-19: fever, dry cough, hard time breathing, sore throat, headache, stomach ache, muscle/body aches, stuffy/runny nose, red eye, rash, chills, nausea, diarrhea, loss of taste/smell, tiredness, and/or throwing up. Anyone can call to discuss testing at 1-800-942-5330, even if you do not have symptoms. They can test those who are asymptomatic (without symptoms), but all requests for testing will need to be assessed by calling the clinic. Appointments may take place via telehealth. Patients will be scheduled for drive-up lab services if a provider determines testing is needed.
There is no cost to patients for COVID-19 testing. All private insurance plans, Medicaid (BadgerCare), and Medicare are waiving patient costs for testing--no copays or deductibles. Testing for uninsured patients is paid for through a Federal program.
FHLC was awarded a grant through Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin to provide prevention education for MSAW workers and their employers. They are also able to provide testing. For questions, employers can call the MSAW COVID Clinical & Outreach Line at 920-787-9450. There, employers will also find a webform where they can submit a service request for assistance.
