Information on Your Waushara County
The Waushara County Register of Deeds office is responsible for examining, recording, indexing and maintaining all Land Records, Certified Survey Maps, Plat/Subdivision Maps, Military Discharge Papers and Vital Records.
To date, the number of newly recorded Land Records recorded in 2016 is 4,392. The number of Vital Records requested in our office for 2016 is 562. Of those 4,392 records, nearly 28 percent of them have been received by our office through one of our eRecording vendors.
Land Records are recorded the same day that they are received, many within minutes of being submitted to our office. Land records are also available on both of our online systems immediately after they are recorded.
As a reminder, in Feb. 2016, 2015 Wisconsin Act 157 was enacted, enabling statewide issuance of vital records. Statewide issuance will go into effect Jan. 1, 2017. After Jan.1, 2017, residents may no longer have to travel to other counties to obtain their vital records. Vital record events include: birth, death, marriage, and divorce certificates.
