Prescription Drug Take Back to be held Oct. 28

For the 13th time the Waushara County Sheriff’s Department, Waushara County Health Department and the Department of Human Ser-vices are participating in the Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The collection event will be held at the Hancock Community Center, 420 North Jefferson Street, Hancock, on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 10 a.m. to noon.

By now most people in Waushara County are aware of prescription pain medication abuse and how it has led to the heroin epidemic. The Take Back Fay offers a great way to get unused medications out of your house and disposed of properly.

Items not accepted include: inhalers, oxygen tanks, nebulizers, sharps/needles, EpiPens, Radioactive Cancer Medications and thermometers.

The Prescription Drug Take-Back Day pro-vides a safe, secure, and environmentally responsible way to get rid of prescription drugs, while also educating the people about the potential for abuse and trafficking of medications.
