Waushara County Accident Reports
The Waushara County accident reports recorded from the Waushara County Sheriff's Office:
• 7/23/17: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 7:30 p.m. on State Road 73, Town of Marion. Jeffery Clarence Morris, 69, Berlin, was backing onto the roadway from a parking lot when he backed into another vehicle on State Road 73 outside of the fog line. No injuries were reported.
• 7/29/17: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 4:58 p.m. on County H, Town of Leon. Elizabeth L. Holzman, 80, Wild Rose, was at the stop sign on 26th Lane and stated that she was unable to see due to the sun and corn at the intersection on the left side of the roadway. Holzman proceeded out from the stop sign and struck Jane M. Alexander, 51, Northbrook, IL, on the passenger side of the vehicle. Alexander stated she saw Holzman entering the intersection and she attempted to move into the other lane to avoid a collision. One citation was issued. No injuries were reported.
• 7/29/17: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 5:05 p.m. in the parking lot of Town of Wautoma. William Jeffrey Kerkhoff, 57, Wautoma, was backing up to leave a parking lot and made contact with another vehicle on the right rear corner. Kerkhoff was unaware his vehicle made contact with the second vehicle and left the scene. Witnesses got the plate number off of Kerkhoff’s vehicle who was located at his residence. No injuries were reported.
• 8/4/17: A two-vehicle hit and run accident occurred at 8:50 a.m. on State Road 21, Town of Aurora. Lamont Todd Bishop, 45, Duluth, MN, was traveling eastbound on State Road 21 when Cody James Tarnowski, 24, Auburndale, driving over the speed limit, moved into the westbound lane of traffic to pass Bishop’s truck. The Tarnowski at-tempted to pass in a no passing zone, on a curve, into oncoming traffic to pass. When Tarnowski was coming through the curve he observed an oncoming westbound vehicle and attempted to brake resulting in him losing control of his vehicle and striking the side of Bishop’s truck. Tarnowski continued on without stopping or reporting the crash. Tarnowski was later located continuing eastbound on State Road 21. Seven citations were issued. No injuries were reported.
