Waushara County Accident Report
The Waushara County accident reports recorded from the Waushara County Sheriff's Office are as follows:
• 3/17/17: A three-vehicle accident occurred at 8:57 a.m. on County Road A, Town of Saxeville. Chad Hunstiger, 43, Appleton, was traveling westbound on County Road A when Gerald Siebert, 84, Wild Rose, was traveling westbound and Haeleigh Wilkinson, 18, Wild Rose, was traveling eastbound behind Siebert. Hunstiger had just gone by an plow on the shoulder of the road. After passing the plow, Hunstiger attempted to pull back into the lane of travel, lost control and crossed the centerline. Siebert attempted to avoid the collision with Hunstiger’s vehicle, which was in the eastbound lane. Siebert struck Hunstiger then lost control and entered the south ditch coming to a rest in the tree line outside of the roadway. Wilkinson had been traveling behind Siebert and attempted to avoid striking Hunstiger’s vehicle, which was still siding partially in the eastbound lane. Wilkinson struck Hunstiger’s vehicle and the pulled to the shoulder. Hunstiger slid and turned back into the westbound lane coming to a rest across the lane of travel. No injuries were reported.
• 3/31/17: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 3:19 p.m. on State Road 21, Town of Marion. Shirley Ripley, 75, Charles City, IA, was traveling eastbound when she crossed the centerline, completely crossed the westbound lane going through a yard and crashing into a ditch. No injuries were reported. One citation was issued.
• 4/1/17: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 7:10 a.m. on County Road O, Town of Rose. Maryah Cook, 16, Bancroft, was traveling eastbound on County Road O when she said she swerved for an animal in the roadway and traveled off the road to the right, striking numerous trees. No injuries were reported.
• 4/6/17: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 2:35 p.m. on State Road 73, Town of Marion. Brian Reilly, 61, Coloma, and Derrick Zarling, 19, Horicon, were driving westbound on State Road 73 when Reilly slowed and signaled a left turn onto Cottonville Lane. Reilly waited for a few southbound vehicles to proceed by when Zarling rear-ended Reilly’s vehicle. No injuries were reported. One citation was issued.
