Waushara County Accident Report
The Waushara County accident reports recorded from the Waushara County Sheriff's Office are as follows:
•1/23/16: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 12:24 p.m. on Highway 49, Town of Bloomfield. Nathaniel Stahl, 38, Crivitz, stopped in traffic to make a left turn onto Berkans Road when he was rear-ended by Mabel Martin, 49, Weyauwega. Stahl lost control and was forced forward and stopped in the west ditch. Martin pivoted to the right at the point of impact and spun 180 degrees coming to a rest on the west shoulder and in the southbound lane of travel. James Elgin, 34, Wautoma, a non-contact vehicle, received damage from the flying glass and debris from the crash. Stahl stated he was stopped in the lane of travel to make a left turn and was rear-ended, his foot slipped off the break and onto the gas pedal. He then stated he braked as hard as he could and ended in the west ditch. Stahl and the passengers in his car were transported by ambulance to ThedaCare-Waupaca Riverside Hospital. Martin was transported to the ThedaClark Hospital and was contacted by phone by the deputy. Martin stated she saw the vehicle in front of her was slowing down to turn, looked in her rear-view mirror for a second, and then saw the vehicle had stopped and slammed on her brakes. Incapacitating injuries were reported. Four citations were issued.
•1/23/16: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 4:53 p.m. on Highway 49, Town of Poy Sippi. Michael Johnson, 44, Wild Rose, was traveling northbound and drove off the right side of the road. Johnson’s vehicle struck a mailbox and continued in a ditch striking a fire number post and a tree. Two citations were issued. Non-incapacitating injuries were reported.
•1/25/16: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 11:10 a.m. on Cottonville Drive, Town of Dakota. Valerie Edge, 36, Hancock, was traveling northbound on Highway 22, while Gerald Butzin, 62, Wautoma, was traveling eastbound on Cottonville Drive. Butzin entered the intersection from the stop sign, when Edge braked and slid to the right. The vehicles collided to the outside of the intersection. No injuries were reported.
•1/27/16: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 3:43 p.m. on County Road G, Town of Mt. Morris. A non-contact vehicle was stopped on County Road G waiting to turn left on Badger Court when Annie Dopp, 16, Wild Rose, came up behind the non-contact vehicle and instead of waiting attempted to go around the vehicle to also turn left. Justin Brandt, 41, Kaukauna, was traveling northbound on County Road G and was truck by Dopp. No injuries were reported. Non-incapacitating injuries were reported. One citation was issued.
•1/28/16: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 6:21 p.m. on County Road B, Town of Deerfield. Amanda Rice, 18, Wautoma, was traveling southbound on County Road B approaching a stop sign where the road interacts with County Road O. Evidence on the scene and word of the driver showed that Rice failed to stop at the stop sign. She said she drove through at 60 mph, lost control of the vehicle, crashed into the ditch along the right shoulder, and rolled in the ditch before landing on its wheels. No injuries were reported. One citation was issued.
