Motor vehicle crash in Green Lake County claims life of pedestrian on Jan. 20th

On Jan. 20, at 1:47pm, Green Lake County Sheriff’s E911 Communications Center received a 911 call concerning a motor-vehicle crash on CTH K near Craig Rd involving a pedestrian and a semi.

At 1:49 p.m., Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene.  Green Lake-Brooklyn First Responders, Southern Green Lake County Ambulance Service, Berlin EMS Paramedic Unit, Markesan Fire Department, and Green Lake-Brooklyn Fire Department as well as Markesan Emergency Management responded to the scene to assist.  The pedestrian crash victim was transported to a landing zone by ambulance and was then flown to Theda Care Neenah by UW Med Flight Helicopter.  The operator of the semi was uninjured.   

A preliminary examination of the scene indicates that the pedestrian had exited a vehicle and went into the path of the semi.   Names of those involved are being withheld at this time.  The pedestrian has since died as a result of the injuries.

CTH K was closed for approximately one and a half hours.  The highway was reopened at 3:10 p.m.

 

This traffic crash is being investigated by the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Green Lake County Coroner.  The investigation is ongoing.
