09/29/2020: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 5:11 p.m. on Woodhaven Ln, in the Town of Marion. Deputy responded to a property damage accident. James Wussow, 61, Oshkosh, advised his vehicle was legally parked and unoccupied when struck. Thomas Hadfield, 62, Waunakee, left their information for Wussow and when contacted said he was backing a never saw Wussow’s vehicle and had collided with it. Wussow advised he left his information and had already been in contact with his insurance.
10/05/2020: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 5:15 p.m. on STH73 southbound in the Town of Plainfield. Jarod Gordon, 33, New Glarus, wanted to gain access to the Travel Plaza Gas Station and thought he could get in to the parking lot by using the I39 southbound on ramp. Gordon went to turn and noticed he could not get to the Plaza and turned back into the southbound highway 73 lane of travel in front of a southbound potato truck. Lyle Gear, 72, Plainfield, was not able to stop and the potato truck’s front passenger side bumper contacted driver rear of Gordon. Gear stated Gordon was in the turn lane then turned in front of him.
10/07/2020: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 1:48 p.m. on 22nd Ave in the Town of Marion. James Robinson, 49, Wautoma was southbound near the intersection of 22nd Avenue and Chicago Avenue when he observed some smoke coming from the dash area. Robinson then stopped and the vehicle caught on fire. The Wautoma Fire Dept. extinguished the fire and the vehicle sustained severe damage. Under the hood area there was numerous walnuts and what appeared to be pine needles on the engine.
10/08/2020: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 6:28 a.m. on Main St./STH22 southbound in the Town of Rose. Jake Roberts, 27, Wild Rose, was traveling southbound when Esperanza De Hoyos, 55, Wild Rose, was slowing or stopped in the traffic lane for deer crossing the roadway. Roberts came to the top of the hill and was unable to avoid De Hoyos in the roadway. Roberts swerved to the left of his vehicle, causing the front left of his vehicle to strike the right rear of De Hoyos. Roberts then entered the ditch area and came to a rest near small tree outside of the shoulder of the roadway.
10/09/2020: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 12 a.m. on Cumberland Rd. in the Town of Coloma. Amber Crook, 22, Coloma, failed to navigate a turn and went into a ditch. Crook attempted to correct in the ditch, then struck a driveway embankment. The vehicle then became airborne for approximately 45 ft. The vehicle landed, striking a tree and ATV road sign. Crook then exited the ditch onto the roadway and crossed 6th Drive, coming to rest in a ditch along Cumberland Ave.
