Accidents reported in Waushara County

10/7/2021: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 3:30 p.m. on an intersection in the Town of Saxeville. Both involved in the crash did not want medical attention. Upon arrival Gary Sorenson, 72, Pine River, appeared to be in pain and he agree it was best to have EMS respond. Two other witnesses were identified. A witness stated Peter Newton, 72, Plainfield, wanted to leave right after the crash. He stated Newton was acting strange and wasn’t sure what was up. This raised deputy’s suspicions as well, so he made contact with Newton. Newton stated he wanted to get home before dark because his headlight wasn’t working. At this time, the front bumper and left headlamp were completely off the car from the crash. The right headlamp was badly damaged. Newton was cooperative and admitted fault. He looked but never saw Sorenson. Newton stated he stopped at the stop sign and inched out and went straight through the intersection and that’s when the crash occurred. Sorenson stated he was traveling southbound at approximately 55 MPH. He stated he saw Newton at the stop sign and was inching out and as he went through the intersection his vehicle was hit by Newton. Both witnesses stated the same story and were consistent with the Sorenson’s statement.

10/12/2021: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 7:20 p.m. on private property in the Town of Plainfield. Kenneth Wauters, 37, Yemassee, SC, was pulling through fuel pumps to go to weigh station at Plainfield Travel Plaza. Wauters stated that he was not paying attention while pulling through pumps as he was looking at other semi tractors on the weigh station. He struck a guard pole of the fuel station, then struck fuel pump. He pulled through to straighten out and came to rest. Wauters suffered a laceration to his left hand from steering wheel when semi-tractor struck pole. Semi-tractor suffered damage to exhaust pipe as well as entrance step to the cab area.

10/15/2021: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 11:59 a.m. on CTHO eastbound in the Town of Oasis. Alayna Larscheid, 20, Green Bay, advised she was daydreaming, drove off the roadway, crossing fog line and onto the south side shoulder. Larscheid over corrected the vehicle back onto the roadway, causing vehicle to yaw. She slid across the centerline and into westbound lane of travel Larscheid exited the roadway into the north side ditch of County Road O where the vehicle rolled approximately five times into an oat field.

10/14/2021: At 7:02 a.m., Jordan Brownlow, 34, Redgranite, on Chicago Ave., Town of Aurora.

10/15/2021: At 6:36 p.m., Patty Jome, 60, Appleton, on STH49, Southbound, Town of Bloomfield.

10/15/2021: At 9 p.m., Marrissa Simonson, 23, Neenah, on STH49, Southbound, Town of Bloomfield.

10/15/2021: At 9: 33 p.m., Brent Wagner, 45, Lodi, on STH21, Westbound, Town of Richford.
