Accidents reported in Waushara County

10/3/2021: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 11:45 a.m. in a parking lot in the Town of Plainfield. Mervin Spracklin, 59, Wautoma, was traveling forward to park in a parking stall in the Plainfield Travel Plaza and was moving into the stall when Jimmy Smith, 37, Frankfort, KY, began moving to pull from a parking stall and initiate a left turn. Smith’s trailer struck the right front corner of Spracklin as he was coming forward into the stall, causing damage to both units.

10/4/2021: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 5:19 p.m. on STH73 southbound in the Town of Oasis. Matthew Green, 60, Wautoma, failed to negotiate a curve and entered a ditch on the south side of State Road 73. Green crossed over Aniwa Rd., and reentered into the ditch. Green proceeded though the ditch/grass area into a large hill/embankment. Green struck embankment and became airborne. Green came to rest on the other side of the embankment nearly striking a pine tree. Green was identified by WI Driver’s license. He appeared to be ill/fatigued due to a recent medical diagnosis/treatment. Vehicle removed by Areawide Towing.

 

10/8/2021: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 7:42 p.m. on Hoops Way in the Town of Coloma. Both units were legally parked, but when driver went inside to pay for gas and had a faulty parking brake issue. While the car was unoccupied rolled backwards striking the driver side door of the parked truck causing damage to the driver door.

10/6/2021: At 8:17 p.m., David Schumann, 59, Winneconne, on STH21, Eastbound, Town of Marion.
