Accidents reported in Waushara County

2/9/2021: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 5:17 p.m. on CTHE eastbound in the Town of Warren. Patrick Odwyer, 26, Oshkosh, passed Jacob Brasch, 25, Redgranite, on the left and while passing lost control of the vehicle. Odwyer slid into the side of Brasch. Odwyer stopped briefly after the crash but left before law enforcement arrived on scene.

2/13/2021: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 5:02 p.m. on STH152 westbound in the Town of Mount Morris. Amber Youngbird, 32, Parshell, ND, lost control while negotiating a curve in the road and slid in the snow, crossing the centerline in front of Aurelio Sauceda, 37, Wautoma. They collided and then spun into the ditch.

2/17/2021: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 7:23 a.m. on CTHE northbound in the Town of Leon. Katherine Borkovec, 26, Berlin, collided with Christapher Mankowski, 18, Pine River, who was exiting a private driveway. Both vehicles came to rest in southbound in the lane facing west.

2/21/2021: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 6:47 p.m. on STH73 northbound in the Town of Plainfield. Jay Goman, 51, Plainfield, stated he was performing his snow removal duties when he observed Gerald Harries, 73, Wisconsin Rapids, enter his lane of travel which resulted in them to collide. Deputy spoke with Harries and asked what occurred. He stated while following the vehicle in front of him he observed the lights from the southbound plow truck. Harries stated during this time the vehicle in front of him started to slow down using their brakes and began to swerve. He then stated this caused him to go around the vehicle in front of him so he did not run into their vehicle, but resulted in him colliding with Goman. Harries stated he believed the vehicle in front of him had possibly accelerated while he tried to go around, which resulted in the collision. Both denied medical attention.

2/22/2021: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 6:30 a.m. on STH49 southbound in the Town of Bloomfield. Drew Kramer, 23, Hortonville, stated that there was a line of three cars northbound and the last vehicle, which was possibly a Chevy Silvarado, silver in color, came across the centerline and made contact with his vehicle. The driver side mirror of Kramer was broken. Kramer stated that he pulled over and waited for the other driver to come back, but they never did.

2/22/2021: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 7:30 a.m. on STH49 southbound in the Town of Poy Sippi. Jersey Reck, 16, Poy Sippi, stated the vehicle in front of her slowed to turn into a driveway. According to Reck, the back of the vehicle was covered with snow and she could not see the brake lights or turn signal. Reck applied the brakes and her vehicle slid across the road, making contact with a road sign in the east ditch. No complaint of injury and minor damage to the vehicle that was driven away after being pulled from the ditch.

2/22/2021: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 9:24 a.m. on CTHAE southbound in the Town of Saxeville. David Decker, 62, Wautoma, was southbound while Kenneth Appel, 60, Wautoma, was westbound. Appel stated he stopped at the stop sign and looked for traffic, not seeing Decker. Decker stated he saw Appel pulling out and tried to avoid it without going in to the ditch. Appel was turning to go southbound as Decker tried to swerve around. Appel made contact with Decker in the left rear corner. Decker called dispatch and complained of neck pain after the crash. Appel cited for Failure to Yield Right of Way From Stop Sign.

2/25/2021: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 1:34 p.m. on Main St./STH49 northbound in the Town of Poy Sippi. Jeffrey Knope, 36, Richfield, was traveling northbound on STH49 when he encountered deer in the roadway causing him to leave the road and lose control when entering the deep snow. He struck a large rock that was at the bottom of the hill, causing severe damage to the front of the vehicle as well as the under carriage.
