Accidents reported in Waushara County

1/30/2021: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 5 a.m. on 18th Rd. in the Town of Rose. Christopher Knight, 35, Gwinn, MI, was eastbound on County Road O. He looked at his GPS and went through the stop sign at State Road 22.  The vehicle went across State Road 22 and made contact with the snowbank on the east side of the road. By the tracks in the snow, it appeared that the driver tried to get the vehicle out of the ditch but then got stuck on top of the snowbank on the south side of 18th Road. The driver advised that he had already contacted Area Wide towing for assistance. Once the vehicle was removed from the snowbank, it was discovered that the vehicle was not drivable due to the damage from the crash. The driver did not mention any pain and had no apparent injury.

1/30/2021: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 2:18 p.m. on 29th Rd in the Town of Leon. Patrick Nelson, 28, Redgranite, hit right shoulder of roadway then over compensated and drove left of center into the opposite ditch, striking a tree.

1/30/2021: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 11 p.m. on 30th Dr. in the Town of Warren. Jessica Wilson, 38, Neshkoro, was traveling on the snow-covered Dakota Avenue, left of center approaching a stop sign at 30th Drive, and failed to stop. The vehicle crossed both lanes of travel of 30th Drive, entered west ditch, and collided with trees. No person was on the scene. The incident was called as a slide off and when deputy arrived the truck was cold to the touch. No phone number listed in-house for owner. Insurance located in vehicle, driver and curtain air bag deployment. Registered owner later called and conversation was recorded. Wilson stated she was the driver and was wearing a seat belt. She was not injured and no one else was in the car. Wilson had stated she only had 7 percent battery-life and called her family to come get her. She had not called law enforcement until Jan. 31.
