Accidents reported in Waushara County

1/14/2021: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 10:33 p.m. on STH21 westbound in the Town of Marion. Rhiannon Elendt, 19, Wautoma, was driving on the snow covered roadway. She lost control and spun into the ditch. The vehicle slid backwards down an embankment until it came to rest on top of the ice in Big Silver Lake. The vehicle sustained damage to the front and rear as it slid across rocks along the lake shore.

1/15/2021: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 5:15 a.m. on CTHII northbound in the Town of Richford. Ronnie Dupre, 29, Neshkoro, was operating a snowplow sub contacted for the Town of Richford. He was at the stop sign on 11th Road, as well as Joyce Lambrecht, 63, Wautoma, who had stopped. Dupre thought he had the right of way. Dupre proceeded into the intersection to clear the west side of the intersection, and Lambrecht continued to turn east on County Road II. Lambrecht stated that when she saw Dupre moving, she applied the brakes, but slid on the snow covered road and made contact with the wing plow. Dupre stated that they were southbound on County Road II and had slowed to make the left turn on the snow covered road. When seeing Lambrecht they were unsure what he was going to do, so Dupre stated to make the left turn to continue on County Road II. The wing plow made contact with the passenger side of Lambrecht.

1/15/2021: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 5:33 a.m. on CTHE eastbound in the Town of Warren. Lisa Smith, 34, Wautoma, was driving to work towards Berlin when she went down in the ditch. She tried to drive back on the roadway. Instead of getting back on the road, the car spun in a circle and came to a stop. The front bumper was nearly torn off and had a lot of grass stuck in it. There appeared to be more damage in the undercarriage and the vehicle would not start. The vehicle was towed.

1/16/2021: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 6:08 p.m. on STH49 southbound in the Town of Bloomfield. Evan Lowney, 20, Manawa, stated he had dozed off leaving the roadway and going into a ditch. The vehicle struck a ditch with the back passenger side and rolled over onto its roof in the north ditch of Hwy. 49. The vehicle had substantial damage to all areas and also had its curtain airbags deployed. Located within the vehicle was an open bottle of liquor which was emptied on the scene, along with another unopened bottle. Driver was cited for failure to control vehicle and possession of open intoxicants, as well as minor in transport of open intoxicants.

1/16/2021: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 8:40 p.m. on STH73 northbound in the Town of Wautoma. Gracie Rendall, 16, Almond, lost control on the roadway, crossed the centerline, entered ditch, then rolled through a power pole and came to rest on the vehicles tires.
