12/27/2020: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 2:02 p.m. on STH73 northbound in the Town of Wautoma. Cheryl King, 49, Almond, stated she was traveling uphill and accelerated her vehicle which caused her to lose control. The vehicle struck the end of a guardrail and traveled down into the ditch before coming to rest against some small trees. She stated she was traveling below the speed limit.
12/27/2020: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 5:34 p.m. on STH21 eastbound in the Town of Aurora. Carrie Phillips, 46, Oshkosh, stated she was stopped at a controlled intersection attempting to go eastbound. While at stopped at the stop sign she was rear ended by James LeGrave, 38, Luxemburg, who stated he was approaching the controlled intersection when he was unable to stop due to slippery conditions.
12/27/2020: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 6:38 p.m. on IH39 southbound in the Town of Plainfield. Lauren Heinrich, 23, Madison, ran off the roadway due to slippery conditions and into the ditch. She struck a fence post and continued in the ditch back towards the road, then the vehicle came to rest stuck in the snow just off the shoulder of the road.
12/29/2020: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 1 a.m. on CTHTT northbound in the Town of Saxeville. Hayden Neidert, 22, Stevens Point, crossed the center line into the northern ditch. The vehicle struck the embankment. The vehicle then flipped over onto the roof. Deputies arrived on the scene, observing vehicle on its roof. Neidert admitted to driving the vehicle and being involved in the crash. He was arrested for OWI.
12/31/2020: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 6:28 a.m. on STH22 southbound in the Town of Rose. Royce Harvel, 19, Wild Rose, stated he had worked a 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. shift and was heading home from work when he thought he had slipped on “black ice”. Harvel was operating in Portage County southbound on State Road 22 near the county line of Waushara. He was negotiating a curve to the left and failed to do so, driving straight off the roadway into the ditch. Harvel traveled along the ditch, striking an embankment on the north side, then traveled over it to the ditch on the south side. The vehicle traveled through the ditch and struck a culvert and a fire number sign. Harvel traveled over another embankment before coming to a rest. Harvel stated he did not remember what happened and believes he may have hit his head.
