Accidents reported in Waushara County

7/13/2023: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 9:08 a.m. on STH49 northbound in the Town of Poy Sippi. Gregory Evans, 63, Coloma, had unsecured gravel load with air gate not secure. Tudor Deaconu, 42, Lincolnwood, IL, was struck by falling gravel from Evans’ vehicle. 7/15/2023: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 5:13 p.m. on an intersection in the Town of Springwater. Mykal-Daeved Shatzer, 18, Berlin, was traveling east in Kusel Lake County Park and advised that there was a knocking noise was heard coming from the vehicle. Shatzer lost control and crashed into a tree. 7/18/2023: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 11:18 a.m. on an intersection in the Village of Plainfield. Leonel Chapa Castillo, 62, Mission, TX, turning north off of W North St/State Road 73 and crashed into Karen Weiss, 75, Wisconsin Rapids, who was executing a turn but did not stop. 7/18/2023: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 10:20 p.m. on CTHEE northbound in the Town of Leon. Dean Powless, 56, Redgranite, was operating a motorcycle driving northbound and failed to maintain control. Driver transported by EMS helicopter. 7/20/2023: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 4:50 a.m. on Czech Ln in the Town of Marion. Trayven Morgan, 22, Coloma, hit a large tree that was already down across the roadway. 7/20/2023: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 12:30 p.m. on STH22 northbound in the Town of Wautoma. Joel Wagenaar, 77, Wisconsin Rapids, was slowing to turn into driveway. Richard Christenson, 60, Scandinavia, struck Wagenaar, causing Christenson to enter ditch and roll over. 7/21/2023: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 12:15 a.m. on 36th Ave in the Town of Bloomfield. Jonathan Bentz, 18, Burlington, crossed over the center of the roadway, entered the east side ditch, over corrected, slid down the roadway, and then rolled. Bentz removed the vehicle from the scene and never contacted the sheriff’s office to report the crash. 7/21/2023: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 12:25 p.m. on STH49 northbound in the Town of Bloomfield. Ethan Johnson, 24, Appleton, was attempting to pass a tractor and trailer in the passing zone. Johnson was overtaking the tractor on the left. The tractor was pulling into the field entrance. Johnson struck the left front tire of the tractor. 7/22/2023: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 9:10 a.m. in a parking lot in the Village of Redgranite. Dennis Kaul, 74, Redgranite, was backing out of a parking spot and did not see Landen Guyette, 22, New London. Kaul struck Guyette. 7/22/2023: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 11:35 a.m. at an intersection in the Town of Springwater. James Wood, 59, Waupaca, was stopped at a stop sign and began driving across the intersection and David Busch, 55, Green Bay, began backing up because he was lost and was attempting to get back to State Road 22. 7/22/2023: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 6:50 p.m. on STH21 eastbound in the Town of Dakota. Jane Heding, 68, Wautoma, backed from parking spot and struck Unit 2 that was parked in a legal parking spot. 7/22/2023: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 8:45 p.m. on Cottonville Ave westbound in the Town of Coloma. Thomas Jensen, 75, Coloma, ran off roadway to the right, then drove through the ditch. Motorcycle then collided with a mailbox while driving in the ditch. After colliding with the mailbox, motorcycle came to rest in the ditch. 7/24/2023: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 7:18 a.m. on E Little Silver Lake Rd in the Town of Springwater. Tara Johnson, 48, Oshkosh, (on golf cart) was traveling from Red Fox parking lot onto E Little Silver Lake Rd, drove off roadway while talking on the phone stated she hit the gas instead of the brake and ran into the open door area of a parked vehicle with mother and three week old child sitting in the seat next to the open door. Johnson came close to striking mother and three week old child, then continued attempt to driver forward/accelerator after impact was made. Driver arrested for OWI/drugs. 7/25/2023: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 3:17 a.m. on CTHA eastbound in the Town of Saxeville. Jason Thomsen, 47, Plover, lost a tire off the trailer of the vehicle. Eric Lynk, 43, Wild Rose, struck the tire that was lost by the tractor trailer in the roadway. Thomsen continued and did not stop until at its’ destination. Lynk came to rest on the right shoulder on S. County Road A near Pine Hill Rd. 7/27/2023: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 9:15 a.m. on Hoops Way in the Village of Coloma. Crysel Garg, 30, Stratford, was attempting to park at Hoops Travel Plaza on the west side of the building. Garg’s foot slipped off of the brake causing vehicle to strike the building doing significant damage. 7/28/2023: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 8:42 p.m. on STH21 eastbound in the Town of Wautoma. Nicholas Karr, 20, Wautoma, pulled out from stop sign and struck John Worden, 68, Redgranite, in the driver side door. Karr said he did not see Worden. 7/30/2023: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 9:40 a.m. on CTHB southbound in the Town of Deerfield. Judy Young, 78, Plainfield, failed to stop for posted stop sign headed south on County Road B. Young collided with Casey Cliff, 26, Appleton, in the intersection. Cliff had the right of way. Deer accidents: 7/11/2023: At 10:23 p.m., Jacob Orth, 48, Madison, on IH39, Southbound, Town of Hancock. 7/18/2023: At 6:02 p.m., Mary Reany, 68, Pine River, on CTHH, Southbound, Town of Leon.
