Accidents reported in Waushara County

11/12/2020: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 9:25 p.m. on IH39 northbound in the Village of Coloma. Hayden Ingersoll, 25, Delavan, stated he was driving approximately 50 MPH when he lost control and went off the roadway. The vehicle went into the ditch and hit the guardrail fence face. The vehicle came to a stop on the shoulder. Weather condition were blizzard-like at the time of the crash and the road had snow cover. The driver stated they bought the vehicle that last week from someone in Illinois and were in the process of transferring plates.

11/19/2020: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 5:09 p.m. on STH 22 northbound in the Town of Springwater. Phillip Dopp, 73, Wild Rose, was eastbound on County Road P hauling a trailer loaded with hay bales and turned left to continue northbound on State Road 22. During the turn, three hay bales fell off of the trailer and landed in the roadway. Dopp did not know they had fallen off and continued driving. Jeffrey Czarnecki, 56, Saint Francis, struck the hay bales in the roadway and then came to a stop along the northbound shoulder.

11/20/2020: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 9:07 p.m. on STH49 northbound in the Town of Aurora. Sandra Cartmill, 54, Berlin, was northbound on State Road 49 and was turning left into the parking lot of the Four Corners Restaurant. Cartmill stated she had her turn signal on. Denise Fox, 79, Berlin, was behind Cartmill and stated she saw the turn signal and thought that she could make it past the vehicle before it turned. Fox went into oncoming traffic lane in attempt to pass Cartmill. Fox made contact with Cartmill during the left turn into the restaurant driveway. Both vehicles came to rest, locked together in the middle of State Road 49. Neither driver complained of injuries.

11/24/2020: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 2:30 p.m. on STH73 northbound in the Town of Oasis. Chou Yang, 55, Stevens Point, was traveling northbound when due to poor road conditions (snow/slush) the rear wheels of the vehicle lost traction. The vehicle spun out, crossed centerline, and entered west side ditch. The vehicle struck an embankment leaving the rear truck area smashed in and not able to be driven. Vehicle removed by tow company.

11/24/2020: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 10:30 p.m. on STH152 eastbound in the Town of Mount Morris. The deputy responded to a single vehicle accident and found that Brian Nickols, 37, Wautoma, was traveling when the vehicle struck a black cow in the roadway. Deputy identified owner of the cow and listed said person as property owner. Owner of animal was issued a county ordinance citation for Animal at Large.

11/27/2020: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 8:09 p.m. on STH21 eastbound in the Town of Marion. Destiney Krebs, 23, Berlin, stated she observed Michael Brellenthin, 61, Delavan, had the left turn signal on to turn into the parking lot of the Moose Inn restaurant. Krebs stated she passed him on the right and then he turned to the right striking her car. Krebs was given the name and number of Brellenthin who then left the scene. Krebs then followed him and took a photograph of the license plate of his car. The next day Brellenthin was located. He stated he had his left turn signal on to turn into the Moose Inn but had driven to far and was past the entrance. Brellenthin stated he then put his right turn signal on and began to turn right. He then stated as he began to turn, Krebs was passing him on the right. Brellenthin admitted he should not have left the scene.

11/22/2020: At 6:37 p.m., Ronald Campbell, 26, Redgranite, on STH73, Northbound, Town of Wautoma.

11/27/2020: At 6:05 p.m., Diane Regenfuss, 72, Richfield, on CTHS, Northbound, Town of Mount Morris.

11/28/2020: At 7:15 p.m., Joshua Engelmann, 39, Oshkosh, on STH21, Eastbound, Town of Warren.
