The Wautoma girls’ basketball team opened its season Nov. 14 with a win.
The Hornets headed to Manawa Nov. 14 and returned home with a 62-37 nonconference win over the Wolves.
Wautoma led 26-10 at halftime behind nine points from Alayna Panich. The Hornets added to their lead in the second half by outscoring the home team 36-27.
Montana Groskreutz scored 11 of her game-high 19 points in the second half, while Panich added 17. Olivia Santos led Manawa with eight points.
