Ayla Newman was named as the Redgranite Elementary School Student of the Month. Mrs. Drexler, Fifth Grade Substitute, gave the following statement: “I’ve had the pleasure to be the substitute teacher in the 5th grade classroom. During that time, one student in particular stands out. She understands the importance of focusing on assignments. She listens carefully during class discussions and to directions. She is organized and easily gathers materials correctly. One of the traits she has that I admire is her confidence to ask questions when she is confused. She offers to do extra jobs in the classroom to help the class function more efficiently. She is aware of classmates and makes sure everyone feels included in group projects. I noticed she invited a “left out” student to join her group. She is courteous and demonstrates a positive attitude towards others and property. I am pleased to nominate Ayla Newman as student of the month.”
