Wildcats come away with win over Tigerton Tigers

The Wild Rose Wildcats came away with a 10-2 victory over the Tigerton Tigers in baseball action on April 18. The Tigers took an early lead with a run in the first inning of play on a sunny, but windy and chilly day with a single and two errors. The Wildcats were shut down in the inning. The visitors were shut down in the second inning, while the hosts were issued a walk. Tigerton came up with a single in the third, as Wild Rose got on the board with 2 runs for a 2-1 lead with a double from Evan Tratz while two other batters reached on errors. The visitors picked up a run in the fourth inning to tie the score as a batter reached on an error, then the hosts responded with a run to retake the lad, 3-2, on a Jayden King single. One other batter had drawn a walk, while another was hit with a pitch. Tigerton was shut down in the fifth, while Wild Rose went to work and scored 7 runs. Jaxon Zacharias, Tratz, Brett Wilbert, and Sam Landwehr each came up with singles. Two walks, an error, a sacrifice, and a hit batsman factored in the offensive as well. In the final inning and a half. The Tigers had a batter reach in the sixth, but were shut down in the seventh. The Wildcats had a batter reach on an error in the sixth as well, and hung on for the 10-2 win. Evan Tratz had 2 hits for the victors including a double, and scored a run. Jaxon Zacharias had a hit and 2 runs, while Brett Wilbert and Sam Landwehr each had a hit and a run. Jayden King also had a hit. Brett Wilbert struck out 10 Tigerton batters while walking none. Tigerton had two batters with a hit each.
