Wautoma/Wild Rose girls soccer team faces off in four games

Wautoma/Wild Rose girls soccer had a busy week of games, including two conference matchups. On April 24 the team hosted North Fond du Lac. Wautoma/Wild Rose girls started strong, but the opponent was able to get 2 goals before halftime. Abbi Zindars had 17 saves for the game. Allowing one more goal in the second half gave North Fond du Lac the win, 0-3. On April 25 the girls played home against conference opponents from Amherst. Amherst scored early with 2 goals in the first half. Several shots were taken by Madylyn Woyak, Laura Babcock, Charlee Kratz and Montana Groskreutz in an attempt to get Wautoma/Wild Rose on the board. Amherst snuck a few more goals in while Montana Groskreutz got a goal near the end of the game. Abbi Zindars had 16 saves for the game. Amherst took home the win. The team traveled to Melrose for a conference match up on April 27. A goal early for Melrose made it 1-0 at halftime. Early into the second half Montana Groskreutz put one in the net. Emma Elm and Addie DeMars had shots on goal. This game has been the hardest fought game the team has played all season. The coaches couldn’t have been more proud of the hard work and positivity throughout the game from the beginning to the end. On April 29 Wautoma/Wild Rose traveled to Omro for a tournament against Omro and Waupaca. Ruby Godinez playing in the goal against Omro with 9 saves. Madylyn Woyak had a shot on goal. Against Waupaca, Ruby Godinez had 3 saves. Marissa Vasquez also played in the goal due to an injury. She had 5 saves. Several shots on goal by Madylyn Woyak, Emica Marquez and Sabrina Adair.
