Kathleen M. “Kitty” VanVoorhis (nee Raatz), age 69 of Redgranite, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 31, 2023 at Patriot Place in Berlin. She was surrounded by the love of her family.
Kathleen was born November 19, 1954 in Oshkosh, a daughter of Orlin and Eunice (Cundy) Raaatz. She had been employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant for over 30 years. She was jokester and story teller, and an artist, who enjoyed doing arts and crafts. Kathleen had a special love for animals, and loved the outdoors especially fishing and camping. Most of all, she was a mom who loved her family.
Survivors include her daughters, Chris Ohanyan of Greenville, WI, Carrieann (Corey) Lamb of Poy Sippi, Faith (Steve) Johnson of Crandon, Kathleen (Grant) Fasher of Phelps, WI, and Brandy (Corey) Sertle of Redgranite. 2 sons, Orin (Clara) Stein of Fayetville, Arkansas and Orlin Stein of Oshkosh; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Mark (Peggy) Raatz, a sister, Mary (Steve) Huettl of Winneconne, and several step-brothers and step-sisters, her step-mother, Shirley Raatz of Menasha, and her special fishing buddy, Derrick Ingles of rural Berlin, She is also survived by other relatives, and dear friends.
“Kitty” was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Pfalzgraf, her parents, Orlin and Eunice Raatz, a sister, Lena, a brother, Russell, her granddaughter, Cassandra, and her canine companion, Fanny.
A Celebration of “Kitty’s” life will be held Sunday, January 14, 2024 from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., with shared remembrances at 3:30 P.M. at the Ruminski Funeral Home in Redgranite. Memorials in Kathleen’s memory will be appreciated in place of flowers.
The family would like to extend Very Special Thanks to Patriot Place in Berlin and to St. Croix Hospice for the loving care given to Kitty and her family.
