Cindy Zielinski, age 68, passed away unexpectedly, January 3, 2024, at her home in Coloma, WI.
She was born August 31, 1955 in Madison, the daughter of Donald and Carolyn (Fellers) Messner. Cindy grew up on the lake in Monona, WI where she spent her summer days enjoying water sports with friends and family. Cindy graduated from Monona Grove High School in 1973. She attended UW Eau Claire where lifelong friendships were formed. Cindy later lived in West Bend, WI where her son Derek was raised. She was employed at Tecumseh for several years until her retirement. Cindy met Tom Zielinski in 2000. They were married in March of 2004 in West Bend. They spent the first years of their marriage planning and building their home on Pleasant Lake in Coloma, WI. Cindy enjoyed her home at the lake and looked forward to all social activities with lake friends and family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Cindy is predeceased by her beloved “Gammy” Dorothy Messner, her parents Don and Carolyn Messner, her brother Michael Messner, her sister LeeAnn Sletten (Michael), and stepdaughter Ashley Zielinski.
Cindy is survived by her husband Tom Zielinski, son Derek Butson (Elizabeth), brothers Ric Messner (Traci), Scott Messner, brother in law Michael Sletten, stepson Tylor Zielinski (Jamie) and their children Savannah and Kierra.
A celebration of life is planned for summer 2024, the season Cindy loved so much. In lieu of sending flowers, please feel free to donate to one of Cindy’s favorite places to be on her off time, Friends of the Park. They will be putting a plaque in one of their gardens in her memory.
