Wautoma School Board fails to
reach agreement on A+ program
The Wautoma Area School District’s
Board of Education decided to table a recommendation for the A+
After-School Program after a lengthy discussion at a July 26 meeting.
Board member Joan Meckelberg questioned the proposals presented at the
July 12 meeting. The ad-hoc committee’s proposal, which was presented by
Parkside School Principal Tom Rheinheimer, suggested cutting program
fees and fundraising, and making several staff cuts. If the board
approved this proposal, grant funds would be the only money allotted for
the program, and the district wouldn’t pay anything to sustain it.
