In-person Storytime returns to Patterson Memorial Library

Subhead

Patterson Memorial Library Director Kent Barnard announced on Apr. 27 that in person Storytime will return to the library beginning Wednesday, May 5, at 10:30 a.m.

“Mr. Kent’s Storytime has been a staple of the library for the past 10 years, and I’m so excited to have ‘my kids’ coming back to the library so we can have fun together,” Barnard quipped, “We’ll be wearing masks, unless we go outside to our new Storytime area, because the safety of our friends and their parents is a priority.

“My wife Erin and I have been doing virtual Storytimes and Morning Reads for over a year on the Library’s Facebook page, and recently we’ve had to move to YouTube, due to upload problems with Facebook.”  Barnard went on “Over the past year we have reached over 75,000 computers all over the country, but nothing compares to being there and reading to kids in person.”

The Barnards have also introduced four puppet friends over the course of the year, which have been very popular with children.

In-person Storytime will begin on May 5 at 10:30 a.m. at the Patterson Memorial Library, 500 Division St., Wild Rose, just one block east of Hwy 22.
