CAP Services, Inc., through its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, can assist income-eligible households to claim the Child Tax Credit (CTC) and / or Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC). These two credits are available to families with dependents under the age of seventeen. A dependent can be a biological child, stepchild, adopted child, or descendant. The CTC is a non-refundable credit, which can only take the tax liability to zero and cannot generate a refund. The ACTC is a refundable credit that can produce a refund, even if the taxpayer does not have a tax liability.
CAP offers tax preparation by appointment at multiple locations. Call your service area below to see if you qualify.
