At approximately 4:14 p.m. on Nov. 7, the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a one-vehicle crash on CTH M near Elk Road in the Town of Harris, Marquette County.
Upon arrival deputies determined that a 2012 Chevrolet Sonic was traveling northbound on CTH M when it crossed the center line and entered the west ditch. The vehicle collided with a series of trees and came to rest.
As a result of the incident, Jeniffer Peters, 47, of Westfield, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office and the Marquette County Coroner’s Office.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office was assested at the scene by Harris Fire and Rescue, Village of Westfield Fire Dept., Marquette County EMS, Marquette County Coroner’s Office, and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
This is Marquette County’s fourth fatal crash of the year with a total of five deaths.
