Dear Editor,
The purpose of this Letter to the Editor is to commend the Waushara County Health Department.
In January a release was published stating that residents in the County over the age of 65 would be eligible to make an appointment to receive the vaccine for COVID.
Previously, I had called my health provider office about the availability of the vaccine and was told to register online. I did and although they promised to contact me, they had not when I saw the notice from Waushara County Health Department So, I called Waushara Health Dept. and received an appointment one week later.
When I arrived to receive my vaccine there were no long waiting lines, and a very courteous professional staff greeted me. I felt as though I had won the lottery. My next appointment one month later was equally efficient. I experienced no discomfort or side effects from the vaccine.
When I saw long lines of people waiting for vaccines only to be turned away on TV I marvel at the smooth operation the Waushara County Health Dept. conducted in their administration of the vaccine. Perhaps other cities would benefit taking a look at their procedure.
Incidentally, my own health care provider finally contacted me a week before I received my second shot.
Sincerely,
Sharon Weeks
