Victim of assault speaks out

Subhead

To the Editor:

I recently was involved in a situation that has caused me considerable anxiety and depression and had to leave my home in Redgranite to feel safe and protected. I was assaulted several times by drug users because I was affiliated with a person that was incarcerated for drugs.  I found that through the system, there is no support for the victims.

I want everyone to know that they need to stand up for themselves and do what is right.  If you feel you have been violated, seek help.  No one has the right to violate you and I have been put on probation for a crime I did not commit.

I have contacted the Department of Justice and the State Attorney General about my circumstances.  I am seeking no monetary gain, I just want every man, woman, and child to feel safe and we need to advocate for them.

We need to find a way to help victims and support them.

Sincerely,

Christine Chamberlin

Redgranite
