Stopping mail delivery is a major change in USPS operations. One would think such a major change that impacts many residences in the County would be subject to public hearings so that residents would have an opportunity to voice their opinion on such a drastic measure. In our case our impacted members received only one day advanced notice their mail delivery was being stopped.
Such a major change cannot be just a Waushara County matter. Since the United States Post Office is a department of the Federal government this change would, seemingly, impact the entire country. Possibly the USPS decided to begin this rollout in Waushara County. If so the Postmaster did not say this to me.
I do not know how many private roads are in Waushara County, probably many. So this ceasing of mail delivery will likely impact many County residents. Many local businesses own the driveway leading up to their buildings. Since those driveways are private property the USPS will not be able to deliver parcels to those businesses.
