Your Wautoma Hornets Boys of Fall Are Back! The 2023 Hornet football season is finally here! There is exciting news we’d like to share with you. For the first time in four years, Wautoma Football will field a Junior Varsity team with games scheduled on Mondays. The incoming Freshman class will feature 15 players that will be contributing to the program. Coaches are excited by the potential in one of the largest Freshman classes the Hornets have had in several years. (insert picture of Freshman here) Enthusiasm surrounds our Hornet coaches as the full staff from last year returns with the addition of an assistant coach. Head Coach Andy Krueger, Offensive Coordinator Nate Miller, Defensive Coordinator Adam Vaughan, Special Teams Coordinator Dave Woyak, Assistant Coach Steve Kasubaski, Assistant Coach, Paul Jarvis and Volunteer Assistant Coach Chase Mastricola (insert picture of coaches) Expectations for this season are high as the Hornets return a strong core from the playoff team of last year. They currently have two recruits that have offers to play at the next level. We are excited to announce that Michael Roeske (JR, 6’7” 285lbs) has had several major college offers including UW Madison, Notre Dame and Syracuse. Come watch Big Mike on the gridiron…..we expect big things out of the big guy! We are also pleased to announce that Peter Idsvoog (SR, 6’3”, 260lbs) has had an official offer from Ripon College. Come watch these boys make considerable plays on both the OL and DL. A feature this year is that we will be highlighting a Senior player each week. The Senior class has nine returning starters this year in key positions. Most of these boys have been playing together since Junior Pee Wee football when they were just 8 years old.
