Wild Rose School Board approves two personnel appointments

The Wild Rose School Board approved two personnel appointments during an April 13 meeting. Kristin Jenks and Melissa Barker were approved as district interventionists. The board also considered a student teaching assignment for the fall of 2023. Alex Hendrickson was approved for the assignment. Leave of absence requests from Brenda Heaney and Jaime Wagner were approved by the board. An exemption from state assessment request for a student was approved. The board considered revisions to the 2022-23 budget, which is a standard procedure every year about this time. The suggested revisions were approved. The resignations of Karli John as a middle school cross categorical special education teacher, and Jim Komp as a middle school sixth grade teacher effective at the end of the current school year were accepted. The board went on to approve a $1,000 donation from the Booster Club for 3 Punch Out Pockets apparatuses to help improve softball pitcher accuracy. The board approved a delegate for the CESA5 Annual Board Convention to be held May 11. The district administrator’s reported that Sandie Anderson and Kathy Williams retained their seats on the board at the spring election. It was mentioned during the elementary principal’s report that the March 31 glow dance was a huge success. A math and reading night is slated for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 20. The MS/HS principal’s report included the eighth grade students toured Seneca Farms to learn about career opportunities available in the food and agriculture industry. Prom is slated for Saturday, April 22. Prior to the board meeting a brief meeting was held by the Scholarship Foundation. Recipients of the eight scholarships the Wild Rose Scholarships Foundation deals with were approved. The next foundation meeting will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14. The next school board meetings will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 27 and May 18. A May 25 date was listed in case it’s needed as well.
