Accidents reported in Waushara County

1/18/2023: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 5:21 a.m. on STH49 southbound in the Town of Aurora. Thomas Barnowske, 67, Berlin, lost control of the vehicle and entered the west ditch and struck a road sign. The vehicle then came to a stop in the ditch.

3/16/2023: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 11:30 p.m. on Aspen Ave in the Town of Bloomfield. Michael Raugh, 65, Fremont, failed to negotiate a curve and drove off of the roadway striking a tree. Raugh failed to notify police of the crash.

 

3/19/2023: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 5:05 p.m. on STH21 westbound in the Town of Aurora. Traffic slowed due to stop at the four way intersection. Rhonda Hyatt, 18, Coloma, looking away from the road and collided with the rear of McKenna Day, 17, Luxemburg. Day slowed coming into the stop at the four way intersection. After the crash, both pulled into nearby parking lot.

3/24/2023: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 5:25 p.m. on STH21 eastbound in the City of Wautoma. Mackenzie Ralls, 21, Redgranite, was following Nathan Sobieski, 19, Berlin. Sobieski breaked to avoid hitting a vehicle that was making a left hand turn into Dairy Queen. Ralls then struck the back of Sobieski causing disabling damage to Ralls’ vehicle that was removed from the roadway by owner prior to law enforcement arrival.

3/25/2023: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 12:12 p.m. on STH49 southbound in the Town of Poy Sippi. Zoe Popham, 27, Waupaca, spun out on the icy road, crossed centerline, entered north ditch, made contact with small trees and large rock, and came to rest on top of the large rock.

 

3/26/2023: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 1:21 p.m. on 28th Ave in the Town of Leon. Christapher Mankowski, 20, Redgranite, was turning right onto 28th Ave from County Road Q. Rebecca Thom, 51, Redgranite, was traveling on 28th Ave and approaching the stop sign at County Road Q. Mankowski was traveling too fast and did not maintain control of the vehicle when turning. Mankowski struck Thom on rear driver side of the vehicle as it was turning right.
