Chris and Monica Hinz of Plainfield met William Carderon-Hernandez in April while visiting the Dominican Republic’s Sanctuary Cap Cana resort on their honeymoon. After learning Carderon-Hernandez was told by his grandfather to experience an American Thanksgiving, the Hinz’s invited Carderon-Hernandez for a 10-day visit to America, Nov. 19-29. The visit also consisted of stops in Milwaukee, Chicago and Green Bay’s Lambeau Field.

William Carderon-Hernandez never celebrated Thanksgiving.

With profound faith and an overall grateful attitude, the Dominican Republic native could only hope to one-day experience the traditional American Thanksgiving his grandfather had experienced 35 years earlier.
