Crop rotation is the easiest yield you can get, it’s “the gift that keeps on giving.” Corn yield increases 10 to 19 percent when rotated with soybeans, while soybean yields increase 14 to 23 percent when rotated with corn.

Organic Matter Needed

The majority of Waushara County has sandy soils that are inherently low in organic matter with less than one percent actual organic matter content compared to dark colored silt loam soils that will normally have an organic matter content of four percent or more.

The Waushara County Zoning Department will again begin notifying many county residents by mail that it is time to have their POWTS (Private Onsite Wastewater Treatment System) or septic system maintenance verification completed. Notices will be sent on or around April 1 and owners will have until June 15 to have the required maintenance completed and verified to our office.

Macular degeneration is an eye condition that can cause central vision loss. According to the Centers for Disease Control, an estimated 1.8 million Americans age 40 and over are affected. Macular degeneration is often age related.

What is Periodic Tenancy?

The grain markets over the past few years have increased considerably from levels we had seen as recently as five of ten years ago. The drought of 2012 was probably the cause for most of this increase.
