The Waushara County Zoning Department will again begin notifying many county residents by mail that it is time to have their POWTS (Private Onsite Wastewater Treatment System) or septic system maintenance verification completed. Notices will be sent on or around April 1 and owners will have until June 15 to have the required maintenance completed and verified to our office.

Unclear central vision

Macular degeneration is an eye condition that can cause central vision loss. According to the Centers for Disease Control, an estimated 1.8 million Americans age 40 and over are affected. Macular degeneration is often age related.

What is Periodic Tenancy?

The 2014 Farm (Food) Bill

The recently passed food bill is 959 pages long and is estimated to cost around $956.4 billion over the next 10 years. While this bill is always listed as “the farm bill” in reality it’s really a food bill for the American people. The food portion of this bill comprises nearly 80 percent of the total cost.

Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus

Porcine Epidemic Virus is a disease caused by a virus which causes severe diarrhea in pigs of all ages with nearly 100 percent mortality for unweaned piglets. Experts estimate the Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea (PED) virus has already killed about one million baby pigs.
