The Wautoma boys’ baseball team took on the Green Lake on May 27 at home. The Hornets had a tough battle against the Lakers losing by one run even though the team had a total of 9 hits throughout the game.

 
Ladycats win WIAA girls' track regional

Tri-County High School held the WIAA Division 3 Track and Field Regional on May 27. The Wild Rose Ladycats took first with 182 points after 18 events, Team Rankings were: Wild Rose, 155; Pacelli, 133; Pittsville, 92; Tri-County, 86; Assumption, 82; St. Mary Central, 43; Port Edwards, 25; and Almond-Bancroft, 17.

Waushara County track athletes participated at the Marathon Sectional Meet on May 30.

 
Adult tennis and pickleball begins at Coloma Community Park

For the third year, the Coloma Park Board is sponsoring tennis and pickleball for adults.  Pickleball will be played on Tuesday nights and tennis on Thursday nights. Both begin at 5:30 p.m., but if players arrive later than, they will be rotated in.

Lady Hornets advance to second round of playoffs

The Wautoma girls’ softball team hosted the Nekoosa Lady Papermakers in the first round of the WIAA Division 2 playoffs on May 22. The Lady Hornets would win the game 4-3 advancing to the second round to play the number one seed Adams-Friendship.

 
Wild Rose Wildcats defeat Mustangs at home, 14-3

The Wild Rose Wildcats captured a five-inning baseball win on May 20 against the Marion Mustangs.

 
Hornets lose to Omro, 8-7

The Wautoma Hornets traveled to Omro on May 22 to play a non-conference match against the Foxes. The boys’ baseball team played a tough game both offensively and defensively, but would ultimately lose the game by 1 run.
