Westfield youth wrestlers advance to state

The theme throughout the season for the Westfield youth wrestling club has been “BYA-Bring Your All.”

 
Wautoma Girls Softball Skills Clinic April 12

The Wautoma girls’ softball coaching staff and team will be putting on a softball skills clinic on Saturday, April 12, at the Wautoma High School Fieldhouse for students in first through eighth grade. There will be three sessions throughout the day with each session requiring a small fee. A discount is available for those players interested in attending all three sessions.

 
Wrestlers advance to state

Wrestlers from the Super Stingers Youth Wrestling Club participated in the youth regional folkstyle tournament on March 15. State championship participants must qualify for this event by placing in the top two in their respective age and weight division.

The Wautoma Hornets Boys and Girls Varsity Basketball Teams truly define what the words Student-Athlete mean. This season both squads posted team grade point averages that their school, their community, and their families should be proud of. The combined grade point average for the Lady Hornets was 3.72, while the boys’ basketball team had a collective 3.90 grade point average.

Wautoma Lady Hornet senior Jade Graebel finished up her career in grand fashion with a career high 26 points against Wisconsin Dells during the WIAA Regional game March 4.

 
Tri-County Girls Basketball get regional win over Montello

The Lady Penguins went on the road, to face the Hilltoppers on March 4 and came away with their first Regional victory in a long time, by beating Montello 39 to 34.

 
Ladycats advance to third round with win against Pardeeville, 41-32

After qualifying for a first round bye in the girls’ basketball tournament, the Wild Rose Ladycats hosted the Pardeeville Lady Bulldogs for the second round of regionals on March 7. The hosts might have had some problems in the early going, but they turned things around and clawed out a 41-32 win to advance.

 
Markesan just too much for Tri-County girls basketball team

The Tri-County Penguins ran into a very talented team on March 7 when they played the Markesan Hornets in Regional Semifinals. The Hornets stung the Penguins 51 to 20. Even though this was a hard loss for the Lady Penguins, these young ladies had a very good season they should be proud of.
