Now that the bids for proposed meeting building/senior dining addition have been revealed to be $140,000 higher than the donation thus requiring the county to spend substantial tax dollars to complete the project, I feel the county board should respectfully decline to proceed.
It is time for the Waushara County Board to make a decision as to whether or not to use a large amount of taxpayers’ money to construct a new meal site/meeting room facility. How will people who claim to be fiscal conservatives vote?
It has now been a few weeks since the beautiful July 4 weekend. We have fallen back into the workweek, as the end of summer seems right around the corner. But I can’t help but reminisce about the time “before”. Before the Richfield CAFO was announced in our back yard; Before we learned how our water was at risk; Before our nearby friends showed us how their lake is almost gone; Before we were taught about how our prized streams may not support trout habitat...Before we took legal action to protect our water.
