Culver’s of Wautoma held a fundraiser on Aug. 14 donating 10 percent of their sales to raise funds for the Brian Mancl Benefit. Brian was involved in a critical accident on June 26 while leaving Country USA.

Alzheimer's Walk brat fry fundraiser to be held Aug. 16

A Wautoma “Walk to End Alzheimer’s Disease” team will be hosting a brat fry fundraiser at Copps Food Store on Aug. 16, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  The brat fry will include brats, hot dogs, and beverages.

Twilight Tour and Garden Open House held Aug. 5

The Superintendent of the Hancock Agricultural Research Station Felix Navarro presented a plaque to William and Doris Willis at the 2014 Twilight Tour and Garden Open House on Aug. 5. The plaque was in appreciation for their continuing support of the display gardens, which can be seen from Highway 39.

On Aug. 7, Juliette Manor held an open invitation for their “Art in the Park” event, which took place in their newly renovated garden area.

Juliette Manor showcased artwork from various local talent, including Chris Hess paintings; Meredith Marshall photography; Jen-na VanOrnum artwork; Heavens Touch photography; Brittany Reetz paintings; Wes Blaisdell woodworking; Jozie Hartzke knitting; and
Badger State décor renovations.

Curve-In Cafe to host Labor Days fundraiser

Preserving fresh herbs

This time of the year our gardens should be producing an abundance of different herbs, if we planted them. My personal favorites are Basil, Chives, Cilantro, and Parsley, and there are so many I haven’t tried.
