Wild Rose Village Board approves street dance proposal

The Wild Rose Village Board approved a street dance proposal during an Aug. 6 meeting.

Jeanie Testin of Sluggers approached the board regarding the closing off of a portion of Front Street to hold a street dance during the Classic Car Show weekend, Sept. 20, as they have in past years. Again there will be people in place to check IDs, with the band performing from 7:30-11:30 p.m. The Sno Rovers Snowmobile club will be selling raffle tickets at the site from 4-8 p.m.

Planning continuing for Fish Lake and Pine Lake

Fish Lake and Pine Lake located in the township of Hancock will continue planning activities at the upcoming session of the Waushara County Lakes Project meeting scheduled for Aug. 21 at 6:30 p.m. at the Hancock Community Center, 420 Jefferson Street, Hancock. The topic of this meeting will be Water Quality, Shoreland Health, and Watershed Land Use. Professionals from UWSP and Waushara County will be present to provide technical assistance and overview useful resources for water quality management.

Augustfest Quilt Show presented by Pine Tree Needlers

The Pine Tree Needlers (PTN) Quilt Guild, Mt. Morris, presented their Augustfest Quilt Show at the World War II Memorial Building, Wautoma, on Aug. 9. The PTN have been presenting their quilt show for over 10 years and this year the Rural Rembrandt Art Guild joined the quilt guild by putting on a display.
