The Wild Rose Classic Car show organizing committee under the leadership of Al Jenks from A.J.’s Auto Body, Wild Rose, is busy putting the finishing touches on the annual event.

The show will be held at the Roseville Shop, Highway 22, south of the Village of Wild Rose, on Sept. 20 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

 
Wisconsin records 69 traffic fatalities in August

With 69 traffic fatalities, August was the deadliest month on Wisconsin roads so far this year. The second highest traffic fatalities month in 2014 was June with 50 traffic deaths.

Traffic fatalities last month also were four more than August 2013 and seven more than the five-year average for the month of August, according to preliminary statistics from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT).

 
Help the Red Cross prepare for emergencies by donating blood

Disasters can strike at any time, and the American Red Cross encourages eligible donors to help their communities prepare for emergencies by giving blood during National Preparedness Month.

Waushara County will be hosting a blood donation in Coloma at the Anna Follett Community Center, 155 Front Street, on Sept. 27 from 8 a.m. to Noon.

Plainfield Board approves police liaison contract for Tri-County schools

The Plainfield Village Board held their regular meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 2 in the Municipal Building.

Members of the board approved the Police Liaison contract with Tri-County Area School District for the 2014-15 school year in the amount of $10,636 as well as the minutes from the Aug. 5 regular monthly meeting.
