Habitat for Humanity rummage sale held July 19

People lined up at the Waushara Co. Fairgrounds well before 7:30 a.m., which was when the Habitat for Humanity Rummage Sale began on Saturday, July 19. Proceeds from the annual fundraiser are used to build good, affordable housing for eligible Waushara, Marquette, and Green Lake County residents.

 
Father David Greskowiak assigned to St. Josephs

Father David Greskowiak was assigned to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wautoma on July 1.  He arrived on July 3 and was pleasantly surprised when he saw the beauty of the area.


 
Waushara County reports two traffic fatalities in 24 hours

Two fatal car crashes occurred in Waushara County within a 24-hour period. On July 9 at 1:45 p.m. the Waushara County Sheriff’s Communication Center received a 911 call of a van vs. semi crash on State Road 22 at the intersection of County Road P in the Town of Rose.

Berkshire’s host Arts and Crafts Faire on the Farm

The first annual Arts and Crafts Faire on the Farm was held at the Berkshire Farm on July 5 and 6. The event had over 25 vendors on hand selling their goods with over 300 visiting in the two-day sale.

 
Rural Rembrandts Art Show Held July 12-13

The Rural Rembrandt Art Club presented the 66th Annual Show at the World War II Memorial Building, Wautoma, on July 12 and 13.

The judge this year was Marilyn Stasiak, former curator of art at the Neville Public Museum in Green Bay and adjunct assistant professor of art at St. Norbert College. 


 
Chappy tapped as Dean of Concordia’s School of Nursing

Effort to ease Wisconsin Veterans from military service into law enforcement careers

Wisconsin was one of six states selected by the National Governors Association to participate in the Veterans’ Licensing and Certification Demonstration Policy Academy.

MADISON — Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen and Veterans Affairs Secretary John Scocos are pleased to announce that, through a collaborative effort by the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) -- Training and Standards Bureau and the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA), veterans now may benefit from an accelerated pathway to becoming a certifiable law enforcement officer in Wisconsin.
